Snoogle Goes Camping

Stephen has a week off before his final year of grad school so we did a little thing we like to call "pregger camping" up in New Hampshire's White Mountains. It's full on car camping (as opposed to hiking with packs to your camp site). We brought our largest tent, air matress, snoogle pregger pillow, lounge chairs and lots and lots of yummy food and snacks in coolers. (We also stayed in campsites with a short walk to flushable toilets.) We took a tram car to the top of one of the mountains for a very light hike and beautiful view, made dinner and s'mores over the campfire, and we swam in a crystal clear lake surrounded by quiet and beautiful mountains. The weather was perfect (50s-70s) and our trip was lovely...

i'm so glad snoogle had fun!

what you described is what I like to call "normal camping."

exactly.

it's "normal" to me, too, but my super outdoorsy husband likes the hard core carry-all-you-need-on-your-back and eat dehydrated food camping. =) we also sleep in a teeny lightweight tent. =) no air mattresses.

no, i actually have always wanted to do hike-in camping, just never have. we don't camp with air mattresses either, but last time we went camping, i told my husband--"Never again without a cot."

Andrew went on a 3 day hike-in camping trip to Yosemite to climb Half Dome. They loved it and the leader of the group has every gadget you can think of. He even fashioned a very nice latrine out of logs. He had perfectly weighed out their food so that no one carried more than 40lbs. They even had margaritas one night.

we should send our 3 husbands off to hard-core camping and get together for a super pampered mom and kids play date next year. =)

That's a great idea!!!
