My 5 Favorite Things About Being Pregnant (so far)

1. Reading books about fetal development week by week. This has totally opened my eyes. I didn't know that the baby has a heartbeat by 5 weeks and that by the end of the first trimester the fetus is virtually complete in form and actively functioning--all major systems and organs are have developed. Wow!

2. I have cleavage. This is new for me. I went up a whole cup size before the end of my first trimester.

3. Researching baby strollers, car seats, cribs, diapers, etc. I thought this would overwhelm me, but I'm really enjoying it. We don't have much space in our apt., so we have to keep extra baby things to a minimum. (swings, playmats, etc.)

4. Going to my midwife appointments so that I can hear the heartbeat.

5. Asking our parents what we were like when we were babies/kids. Stephen's mom says he was very mischievous. I was bald for the first year of my life.

Comments:
oh, i love that you were bald! michael loves bald babies.

Man, you're not kidding about the cleavage! When I was pregnant with Aidan, I was volunteering in the toddlers room at our church. When I was about 14 weeks pregnant, a little girl came up to me and pointed at my neckline and said "What's that?" I thought she was pointing to my necklace so I told her it was a necklace that my mommy had given me. She then took her pointed finger and stuck it INTO my cleavage and said, "No. That ? what's that? Do you have boobies? My mommy has boobies."

I laughed out loud and then told her that "yes, I have boobies". Her mom told me later that her daughter had been noticing the differences between mommies and daddies and that she had been very into this phase.

Also, I have to admit that I really enjoyed researching the baby gear, too! I'm glad that it is not overwhelming you

It IS fun!

You have to go play with the Boston Babywearers - http://www.bostonbabywearers.com/ We have had a number of pregnant women come to our meetings and they were all glad they did :o) A good carrier is a great parenting tool!

Sam looked like Uncle Fester from the Addams family and Ethan looked like a turtle with giant eyes! Thankfully they 'cuted' up after awhile. : )
