Lizard's list...

1. One book that changed your life: There have been many, but The Poisonwood Bible had a huge impact on how I lived my daily, wasteful American life. I've never looked at an empty food container the same way.

2. One book that you have read more than once: The Lord of the Rings. Ok, that's 3 books.

3. One book you would want on a desert island: John Bunyan's, The Pilgrims Progress. I would want to be reminded that even while stuck on an island that I was still on a journey!

4. One book that made you laugh: I have to say The Da Vinci Code.

5. One book that made you cry: The Kiterunner

6. One book that you wish you had written: I wish I could write with enough eloquence to write a story about my sister-in-law who died in 1999. I so desperately want my boys to know her as I did.

7. One book you wish had never been written: I Love You Forever, the children's book. : )

8. One book your currently reading: Girl Meets God, Lauren Winner

9. One book you've been meaning to read: I've been trying to get through Mere Christianity for a long time.

Comments:
Thanks, Lizard! I really like Girl Meets God.

I liked that book, too. I just don't understand how, after her next book, Winner got caterpaulted (sp?) to fame as the Speaker of Abstinence after she tried it out for a year or two in her late 20s. Also, how she got to be Female Speaker of the Emergent House despite a pretty traditional evangelical theological perspective.

It is gorgeously written, though.

Actually, Lizard, I believe Tolkien considered the Lord of the Rings a single work. It wasn't meant to be viewed as a trilogy. So there: it can now be your book that you've read more than once :)

I don't understand that either--regarding the emergent thing in particular.

Can I just say "AMEN" on the "wish I Love you Forever" had never been written?

I received it as a gift from someone, and while I can see how it's trying to be sweet, I definitely have issues with the relationship between this mother and son!

I agree Kellsey. There are some scene's that are downright creepy.

(But for all of you who have chosen to purchase my book that my cousin wrote please ignore the similarities and just think of that precious baby girl in China who needs a mommy and daddy!)

Dude. WORD on the I love you forever badness.

It shoud be retitled, No boundaries, not ever.
